State College is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and State College follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very nice, well-stocked and honest store, but maintenance is booked out for weeks. I learned this the hard way, having biked out 20min to get there, but they were very graceful and introduced me to a few local alternatives , including Penn state’s self-serve bike maintenance shop. Great guys!

I brought my 1990s mountain bike to this shop to have the wheels changed and some brake work done, and they did an excellent job. Because the bike has older-style rim brakes, the work required careful attention to detail. They restored some of the existing components to good working order and replaced other parts where necessary. The shop has a great atmosphere. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to bicycles. They even have a couple of friendly dog mascots! There are also many interesting vintage bicycles on displayβ€”not for saleβ€”which makes the shop feel almost like a small bicycle museum. Parking is abundant, and the shop is conveniently located about 0.8 mile from the intersection of College Avenue and Atherton Street, directly across from the Penn State golf course. Their prices are reasonable and fair, and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs quality bicycle repairs.

Best bike shop around! If my bike could talk, it would thank this crew before it would thank me. If you're looking for the least pretentious bike shop in town, this is the one. Need a part for a niche project? They'll find a solution. Looking for a carefully curated selection of riding socks? They've got what your toes yearn for! Do you need a hug from a furry friend? Justin probably won't do it, but one of the shop dogs will be there with a wagging tail to greet you! I would trust most of these guys with my child, except Chris, I'd rather not have my kid telling me that my tire/valve alignment is all wrong. 10/10 that is unless you have some sort of bike shaming kink.

Wow, I've been to 4 different bike shops in the past 2 weeks, and I must say these guys hands down are the best when it comes to customer service. I am a middle aged woman (late 50's)who is just getting back into biking, and the past 3 bike shops have all treated me with somewhat dismissive attitude/service. I am a very competent woman who owns a small business and has a knack to be able to "fix things". These guys here, not only went out of their way to help me, they treated me with dignity and respect minus any dismissive attitude; in fact, quite the contrary. They are amazing and I will only, ever do business with them from now on. Thanks guys for being such great people and providing me with such authentic......great.....customer service.

As a woman who rode bikes only occasionally, going into a bike shop is a bit intimidating, but I really appreciate that the staff at Freeze Thaw was always willing to answer my questions and let me test out lots of bikes before making (what felt to me like) a big purchase. They also made my old bike much safer before I finally bought a new one from their shop. I now bike nearly every day and I have them to thank for getting me back into biking for my commute.
